New Limits Display in PubMed
Have you searched PubMed lately? You probably have noticed that the link to the limits page is no longer available. The limits page has been replaced by a results filter sidebar on the left of the main page. The filter sidebar options will work the same way as the limit selections; once a filter is set, it will remain activated for subsequent searches until you clear it.
When you perform a search in PubMed, the following default filters are now displayed:
- Text availability
- Publication
- Species
- Article types
- Languages
To limit your search to any of these filters, click on the links below them; note that additional options are available in some categories when you click “more.”
To change or delete your limit choices, click the “clear all” link; to add limits not already listed on the sidebar, click on the last entry, Choose additional filters, and more limits will be displayed. The limits already set for your search are shown with boxes check-marked.
Do you need to limit a search to nursing journals, age group or a particular search field, but find those options are not displayed? Click Choose additional filters, select a category and click on Apply. A list of additional limits will display in the sidebar.
