JoVE now available at The TMC Library

The TMC Library is pleased to offer our educational users remote full text access to the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE).   We now subscribe to the following sections:  JoVE General, JoVE Clinical and Translational Medicine, JoVE Neuroscience and JoVE Immunology and Infection.  

Due to technical difficulties on the publisher’s platform, JoVE can be accessed only via direct links on the TMC Library’s eresources portal, as shown here:

 
Non-educational users may access within the Library with a guest pass and login.

ProSearch Maintenance, Dec. 24th

Deep Web Technologies, the providers of ProSearch, the Library's live multi-database search tool, advise that ProSearch will be unavailable between approximately 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Central Time on Monday, Dec. 24th, while they perform some maintenance and updating.  We appreciate your patience!

Current Protocols for 2013

The TMC Library is cancelling its subscription to the updating Current Protocols in Stem Cell Biology with the start of 2013. Archival access to the text updated through 2012 will remain available to our users.

Current Protocols titles that will continue to be provided for 2013:

• Current Protocols in Immunology
• Current Protocols in Molecular Biology
• Current Protocols in Neuroscience
• Current Protocols in Protein Science

TMC Library Holiday Hours

The TMC Library will be closed on the following days:

The library will observe holiday hours from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm from Monday, December 17 through Friday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 26 through Friday December 28.

Saturday, December 22 and 29, the library will be open regular hours from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Reference services will not be available on these days.

Holiday hours on Sunday, December 16, 23 and 30 will be from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Reference services will not be available on these days.

Regular hours resume on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Last RefWorks Class in 2012

Do you have a final assignment and need a refresher on RefWorks? Join us for the last RefWorks class of the year!!

Friday, December 14, 2012
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

RefWorks is a web-based citation management program that allows you to organize references in one convenient location, and also format your paper and bibliography. RefWorks contains several hundred citation output styles such as APA and AMA, in addition to individual journal submission formats. This class will teach you to set up an account, import citations, build your bibliography and format your paper. 

Note: It is highly recommended that participants in this class have experience searching PubMed or other databases, and using Microsoft Word.

Tracking Your Publications Class

Stop by the Library tomorrow Friday, December 7 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. to attend a class on Tracking Your Publications.

 

Do you need to find out who has cited your research and how many times?

 

Scopus' "Author Search" lets you see who is citing whom. Use this tool to see your bibliographic connections to other authors, find metrics on your citation rates, and find measures of journal performance. Also covered: using JCR to find the Impact Factor of journals.
