RefWorks is a web-based citation management program that allows you to organize references in one convenient location, and also format your paper and bibliography. RefWorks contains several hundred citation output styles such as APA and AMA, in addition to individual journal submission formats. This class will teach you to set up an account, import citations, build your bibliography and format your paper. *It is highly recommended that participants in this class have experience searching PubMed or other databases, and using Microsoft Word.

Full-Text Articles: How Do I Find What I Need?

This class provides an overview of how to access full text electronic journals and e-books available through The TMC Library. Participants will learn how to access the library website, library subscribed databases and electronic books to retrieve full text resources . The class also covers printing, saving and e-mailing the full text of articles.

Health Websites for Nurses 1 CNE Contact Hour (CNE Activity ID: O-AO-13173-04-10)

This activity will enable nurses to enhance their research and clinical assessment skills/abilities by utilizing Internet search knowledge to access quality, reliable healthcare specific, patient education specific, and nursing specific resources. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region has a Full and Fair Disclosure Policy that requires course faculty to communicate any real or apparent commercial affiliations related to the content of their presentations/materials. The presenter has no conflicts of interest to disclose. To qualify for successful completion attendees must sign in on the attendance sheet, be present for the entire length of the class and fill out an evaluation form.
