In connection with the Medical Ethics Series: Vaccines, Epidemics and Ethics, the exhibit, Stamping out Disease is now on display at The Texas Medical Center Library.
Infectious diseases kill 13 million people worldwide every year.
Therefore, controlling disease is a global medical priority. The panels in the
exhibit present a unique display of postage stamps and photographs that offers
a visual record of the worldwide fight against infectious diseases and the
effort to eradicate those diseases through widespread vaccination.
In addition to the
Stamping Out Disease exhibit, The TMC Library has on
display, information and artifacts about infectious
diseases: neglected tropical diseases, smallpox and polio.
Stamping Out Disease is on loan from the Texas Medical Association,
History of Medicine Committee.
