ACP Smart Medicine

ACP's PIER with AHFS DI Essentials is transforming smoothly into the new ACP Smart Medicine (still, for us, including AHFS DI Essentials.) Users may notice some mostly visual enhancements to the interface, but the product remains basically the same reliable companion to the physician or physician-in-training-- still found in Stat!Ref and accessible on mobile devices.

For those unfamiliar with it, ACP's PIER/ACP Smart Medicine is a streamlined decision-support, point-of-care tool for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Modules are organized by topic:

• Diseases

• Screening and Prevention

• Complementary and Alternative Medicine

• Ethical and Legal Issues

• Procedures

The topics themselves open up into further categories that present quick and easy access to just the information you need. Evidence-based care is the focus; levels and criteria for evidence are clearly explained in a Key, and content is labeled with evidence ratings and backed up by the appropriate references. The aim is to improve the quality of patient care while also avoiding unnecessary costs.
