Cochrane Library Service Interruption Saturday

The TMC Library has just learned that Cochrane Library will be down for hardware maintenance on Saturday March 24th, between approximately 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. CDT. The pubisher apologizes for the inconvenience to our users.

Service Interruption Saturday - E-Journals, E-Books, and FindIt! Access

Our provider of the A-Z journal and e-book lists and the link resolver (FindIt!) advises us today that they must do emergency maintenance that will interrupt your access for approximately one hour, beginning at about 7:00 p.m. CDT tomorrow, Saturday, March 24th.  We thank you for your patience while these vital services are down.

A-Z Access to TMC’s Electronic Book Collections

The TMC Library is implementing e-book access via the familiar A-Z list you use for finding electronic journals.  If you want to know what electronic booksthe Library has on a particular topic, or need to find a certain textbook in electronic format, there is now an easier way to answer your question.

To search for electronic books available at the TMC library, go to the A-Z List of Online Journals & E-Books, available at: http://ca3cx5qj7w.search.serialssolutions.com/

If you have ever searched for e-journals at The TMC Library, you are already familiar with the A-Z list: now it also includes electronic books.  When you first access the search box for the A-Z List of Online Journals & Books, all item types are selected by default: Books, Journals and Other. Select only Books to limit your title search.  You can also browse by subject or publisher.

Please note that the e-books from two collections are currently being added and entries for them will be completed during the next few weeks: Gale Virtual Reference Library and NetLibrary, now called Ebooks@EBSCO.  The rest of the collections are already listed.

Springer Introduces MyCopy Service

Springer’s new MyCopy Service allows Library users to order softcover print copies of electronic books that the TMC Library has purchased from Springer.  Springer e-book titles will display links that provide an option for purchasing online.  You can learn more about MyCopy by clicking on the Springer logo above.  Links to the Library's Springer ebook collections are located on the Ebooks webpage.
