Full-text access to Science Classic articles from 1880 - 1996, are available at the TMC Library via the JSTOR platform.
Science Classic provides access to the
digitized full text archives of Science from its
first issue in 1880 through 1996. Go to the JSTOR
Science landing page.
Please note that full-text articles in Science Classic from 1880
to 1996 are not directly accessible from within the Science platform.
Direct
access from the publisher site (AAAS) requires purchase of the archives plus an
annual maintenance fee. Within JSTOR,
the Library retains freely available full text access to Science Classic.

SciVerse Hub and RSS Down Time, Saturday morning, Dec. 1
Elsevier advises that ScienceDirect and Scopus RSS feed service will be interrupted for a short time, between approximately 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 1st in order to roll out some infrastructure upgrades. SciVerse Hub will also be unavailable, from about 10:00 a.m. to noon.
The new release being installed will include browser support for Google Chrome for PC, and Mac support of Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome. Complete iOS and Android support will not yet be added, but existing bugs have been fixed for these services, and mobile users should see an improvement to their user experience. Thank you for your patience.

SpringerLink migration to new platform
SpringerLink has moved to a new and improved platform that is optimized for most mobile devices.
Springer will redirect all users to the new SpringerLink platform at link.springer.com, regardless of where you access from, or whether you use an old Springer url. Individual accounts, however, will not be migrated. Individual users will need to go to link.springer.com and set up a new profile/account.
Full text for all of The TMC Library's subscribed Springer content should now be accessible on the new platform. If you experience any technical difficulties, or have any questions, please contact Joanne Romano, Licensing and Serials Librarian, at joanne.romano@exch.library.tmc.edu.

Guide's third edition provides invaluable insight on ethics in scientific
communication, the editorial process, copyright, conventions in chemistry,
grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing style for any STM author, reviewer,
or editor. The guide is an excellent source for all information needed to write,
review, submit, and edit scholarly and scientific manuscripts.

New Mobile Library Guide

The new TMC Library Mobile Resources Guide includes tutorials and videos on using Dynamed, Scopus and Science Direct as well as information on how to download medical apps into your mobile device.

e-Life Publishes First Research Articles
eLife, a new open-access
journal for outstanding scientific advancements, has published its first research articles. http://www.elifesciences.org/the-journal/articles/
A researcher-led initiative for the best in science and science communication, eLife is backed by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Max Planck Society, and the Wellcome Trust, the initiative’s first aim is to launch an open-access journal for outstanding advances in life science and biomedicine, which is also a platform for experimentation and showcasing innovation in research communication.
The eLife journal Web site is expected to be available by the end of 2012, but the first collection of articles has been released. The articles can be foud at the eLife Web site with the full content available at the online archive of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, PubMed Central (PMC), and its mirror sites including UKPMC.
